Moomintroll and Snorkmaiden, the Sweethearts
The new Sweethearts design brings Moomintroll and Snorkmaiden together by just the two of them for the first time since the release of Moomin Arabia’s Love mug, which turns thirty this year.
The Sweethearts design is about forgiveness, as even when the Moomins face challenges, strength is always found in each other. Love, trust, and compassion can overcome anything.
The design tells a story where Moomintroll discovers a ship's log filled with the fantasy of a maiden in love. When it turns out to be Snorkmaiden’s diary, a flurry of emotions ensues between the two buddies. The confusion and quibble end in reconciliation and hugs–all illustrated in scenes that are at the same time amusing and endearing, just as the two sweethearts’ relationship.
Moomin Arabia’s design team drew inspiration for the illustration from the Moomin comics Moomin Under Sail (1959), The Conscientious Moomins (1958), and Snorkmaiden Goes Rococo (1958).

Loving Care depicts the kind and caring Moomin Family
The Loving Care design embodies the spirit of the Moomin family, where kindness and empathy extend to all creatures in Moominvalley.
In the illustration’s backstory, the Moomins and their friends' cosy beach picnic takes a turn as they encounter shipwrecked pirates. Moominmamma’s gentle nature softens up the brazen pirates, and they end up helping with the gardening. Although the Moomins and pirates may have opposite goals in life, the Moomins manage to create a common understanding through their kindness.
The illustration is based on the Moomin comic Moomin’s Desert Island (1955).
