Beams and Moomin Arabia collaborate on a very special collection, which is an homage to the Finnish author and artist Tove Jansson’s iconic Moomin stories, already dating back 80 years.
The Beams Japan x Moomin Arabia items include a unique hand-painted ceramic Moomin mug and other limited-edition pieces exclusively available in Japan from Beams. The mug and mini figurine became available through a raffle sale already on August 28th, while the rest of the collection will be available starting September 20th. Some items from the collection will also become available in the Nordics in 2026!
A mug and a mini figurine – a homage to the early Moomin ceramics
The new Beams Japan x Moomin Arabia mug with hand-painted illustrations is a must-have Moomin treasure to have in one’s collection. The mug is inspired by the all-time first ceramic dishes featuring Tove Jansson’s Moomin illustrations from the 1950s. The dishes were a children’s dining set with hand-painted Moomin characters. Featuring Moomintroll and Snorkmaiden the new mug is designed in the same delicate and crafty style as an homage to the originals. The illustrations are hand-painted, and, on the bottom, there’s a text signifying the collaboration. The ceramic Moominmamma mini figurine is another collector’s gem, portraying Moominvalley’s caring mother figure. The original design is from the 1990s. For this special edition, Moominmamma is wearing her iconic handbag in the fashionable, Beams signature orange. From dry socks to tummy powder, Moominmamma’s handbag has everything one would ever need in any situation–you’ll see an inspired selection of the items in the print designed for the collaboration.

Beams x Moomin Arabia products will be available at the Beams Shinjuku store in Tokyo through a pop-up event and Beams LIFE Yokohama starting September 20, 2025. Some items were released earlier on August 28 via a raffle sale through Beams’ channels.
