From ceramic tableware and serveware to tablecloths, festive accessories, and bed linen, the selection covers the festivities from the beginning to the day after.
Inspired by Tove and Lars Jansson’s comics
With its flower-decorated illustrations in yellow, blue, and red on a light blue background, the Summer Dance collection blossoms with abundance, lightheartedness, and folk spirit, creating a festive atmosphere for your events.
Moomin Arabia designed the collection around the comic story Moomin and the Scouts, created by Tove Jansson’s brother Lars Jansson in 1961.
As the story goes, Moomintroll has set his eyes on a girl named Tuttle. First, she appears more interested in her Girl Scout duties, but has a change of heart when Moomintroll saves her life. Out of jealousy over Moomintroll, Snorkmaiden reveals his quirky habits to Tuttle. Regardless of whether it worked or not, it turns out Moomintroll has rivals, as Tuttle leaves him and takes up folk dancing for a new crush. Moomintroll realises he’s made a mistake, and apologizingly gets back to Snorkmaiden. Until the next adventure, they dance away in the sunny meadow.
The story's characters are shown in the illustration dancing among an abundance of wildflowers, forming vibrant paths of movement. Some elements are also adapted from Tove Jansson’s comics Moomin and the Sea (1957) and Moomin Begins a New Life (1956).
