Snufkin is a gentle and philosophical vagabond who wears a green wide-brimmed hat and a shabby old coat. His best friend is Moomintroll, and Little My is his half-sister. Among the inhabitants of Moominvalley, he's very much liked and admired, for he meets every new person with curiosity and a warm heart. But, as a maverick by nature, he also enjoys being alone and comes and goes as he pleases. Every autumn he leaves Moominvalley for the winter to explore new places, trying his luck at fishing and composing new tunes with his harmonica.
